Jadeite is primarily sourced from Myanmar (formerly Burma), but it can also be found in other regions such as Guatemala and Japan. We source our jadeite directly from trusted suppliers, ensuring transparency and authenticity in our products. HOW DO I CARE FOR MY JADE BANGLE?
Caring for a jadeite bangle is important to maintain its beauty and durability. Here are some tips on how to care for your jade bangle:
Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Keep your jade bangle away from harsh chemicals such as perfume, hairspray, and cleaning agents. Chemicals can dull the surface of jade and affect its color over time.

While some items may not include certificates, rest assured, we transparently communicate this in the product description box but we still guarantee they’re genuine.

WHY DO SOME JADE PRODUCT NOT COMES WITH CERTIFICATES OF AUTHENTICITY?

In some cases, the certificate for our jade products is missing due to misplacement.

WHAT IS POLISHING POWDER (抛光粉)?
In Myanmar’s jade industry, polishing powder is often used to enhance the outer appearance of jade by smoothing and refining its surface. This powder contains pigments that can temporarily alter the color of the jade, giving it a more vibrant or uniform appearance. It’s important to understand that this coloring effect is superficial and affects only the outer layer of the jade. These polishing powder typically comes in green, purple, and yellow colors.
DOES POLISHING POWDER (抛光粉) AFFECT THE AUTHENTICITY OF JADE?
Polishing powder only affects the outer layer of the jade and it can be washed away if professionally done. If it is properly cleaned, it does not compromise the authenticity or quality of the jade.
HOW DO YOU MAKE SURE OUR JADE PRODUCTS ARE NOT AFFECTED BY POLISHING POWDER (抛光粉)?
At Maddy Ying Jewellery, we prioritize transparency and quality in our jade products sourced directly from Myanmar. We take great care to ensure that all our jade products undergo professional cleaning to remove any residual polishing powder before they are photographed and offered to our customers. Our meticulous cleaning process is designed to restore the natural color and beauty of the jade, minimizing the presence of superficial enhancements. After each cleaning process, individual inspections will be conducted. If we notice that there’s still some leftover polishing powder on the jade, we will repeat the cleaning process until the polishing powder is removed entirely.
In some cases, despite our meticulous cleaning process, which involves multiple washes to ensure each piece is natural (aka Type A), a small amount of polishing powder may occasionally remain in tiny crevices/cracks. Please refer to the photos below for some examples. In that case, we will communicate this openly and transparently in the product description to all our customers. It’s important to note that this residue is purely superficial and does not compromise the authenticity or integrity of the jade.
